At times, department chairs express feelings of role conflict as they try to balance their commitment to being an administrator as well as a faculty member. Balancing these career demands means making trade-offs between leadership and personal interests. Research shows that a lack of balance in these areas can lead to stress. This session will focus on ways to balance the roles of administrator and faculty members for department chairs. Discussion and sharing of examples will be highlighted.
