Welcome to the Office of Academic Innovation and Effectiveness website. This site has much to offer our students, faculty, staff, and community. Students can find information regarding our outstanding Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Program, which provides opportunities for undergraduate students to engage in research or other scholarship with a faculty mentor. Students may also be interested in SIUE’s nationally recognized Senior Assignment and our Senior Assignment Showcase. We remain committed to ensuring the vitality of this capstone experience that is the cornerstone of the SIUE baccalaureate degree. SIUE faculty members can benefit from the wide variety of faculty development offerings. These come in the form of the mid-week mentor series, workshops, book clubs, and on-demand programming. I hope that you will find something to support your professional development interests. We are committed to providing the support to promote continuous learning and master teaching. We also have expanded our Chairs’ Development program to better support the critical leadership role that the department chairperson plays on our campus. Additionally, the Office of Academic Innovation and Effectiveness coordinates SIUE’s institutional accreditation through the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) of the Higher Learning Commission. We have shared information regarding our continuous improvement efforts and our university. I hope that you will take the time to explore these projects. The University’s assessment activities fall under our auspices as well. SIUE has a rich history of assessment and a strong culture that supports these efforts. The Assessment pages provide more information regarding our efforts to ensure quality academic programming and to promote student learning.
Again, thank you for visiting the website. I hope that you will find something to support your work or take the opportunity to learn about the exciting and myriad university-wide initiatives coordinated through this office.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you.
