HIRING UNIT:  UNIVERSITY SERVICES TO EAST ST. LOUIS TRIO:  UPWARD BOUND (BEMV) PROGRAM

TITLE/RANK:   Counselor/Tutor BEMV Foreign Language

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Will teach enrichment courses before, after school and weekends to high school students at the SIUE East St. Louis  Center or area high schools.  Will provide instruction tutorial services and develop and implement individualized education plans.  Will assist in the development and implementation of program activities as they relate to the specific subject area.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Non-Bargaining, Term beginning September 14, 2009 through August 31, 2010 with the possibility of renewal.  20% appointment.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    Federal

SALARY RANGE:    Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Bachelor’s degree in education field.  Two years teaching experience.  Two years in educational curriculum planning and program development work experience in programs/education for youth from low-income backgrounds.
