HIRING UNIT: UNIVERSITY SERVICES TO EAST ST. LOUIS TRIO: UPWARD BOUND (EC) PROGRAM
TITLE/RANK: Counselor/Tutor (Foreign Language: Spanish)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Teach enrichment courses before, after school and weekends to high school students at SIUE East St. Louis Center or area high school(s) in Foreign Language: Spanish. Will provide instructions, and develop and implement individualized education plans. Will assist in the development and implementation of program activities as they relate to the specific subject area.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: Federal
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree required in related subject matter above. Prefer minimum of two-years teaching experience at urban high school or university. Must submit an official transcript. Experience working in related educational and/or other programs for youth from low-income/disadvantaged backgrounds desired. Knowledge of and sensitivity toward problems of minority and disadvantaged students desired. Knowledge of and/or experience in TRIO Programs desired.
