HIRING UNIT: INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
TITLE/RANK: Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics and must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. The incumbent will support the goals and objectives of the athletics program, assist the Head coach with organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics. The position will comply with the University and NCAA Division I rules and regulations. As the Assistant Coach, the position will work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel. This position supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Non-bargaining, Term beginning August 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 with possibility of renewal. 100% appointment.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred). Evidence of sound organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and public. Coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
