HIRING UNIT: UNIVERSITY SERVICES TO EAST ST. LOUIS, EARLY HEAD START
TITLE/RANK: Health Associate
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Plans and conducts health, dental, and nutrition education and training for staff assigned to the Early Head Start Program, as well as, women participating in the Expectant Families program option of the Head Start/Early Head Start program. Provide training and technical assistance to all Early Head Start center staff to enhance the provision of services to children and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Completes post-partum home visits to assess the bell-being of the post-partum woman and infant. Completes Health and Safety Checklist in assigned centers. Assists with identifying additional health care resources and delivery systems. Refers to and consults with appropriate agencies and staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Bargaining, Regular. 11 months, continuing with possibility of renewal. 5 days per month (23%) appointment.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse with two (2) years experience working in a community health care delivery system that serves low-income families. CPR Instructor Certification. Strong organizational and communication skills.
