TITLE/RANK: ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH
HIRING UNIT: INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position reports to the head coach and director of athletics and must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. She/he supports the goals and objectives of the athletics program, assists the head coach with organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the head coach or director of athletics. This position complies with University and NCAA Division I rules and regulations, works cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel, and supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety and welfare of each student-athlete. The Assistant Coach will perform additional duties as assigned by the Sr. Woman Administrator and the Director of Athletics.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Non-bargaining term, 100%, June 2013 - June 2014 with possibility of renewal.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: Local
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree required (master's preferred). Evidence of sound organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and public. Four years' collegiate playing experience required. A minimum of two years coaching experience at Division I level is required. Must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
