TITLE/RANK: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR EMPLOYER RELATIONS
HIRING UNIT: CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The primary responsibilities of this position include development of professional, Cooperative Education and internship positions for students and alumni. The applicant will conduct research concerning the types of positions available versus the needs of students and alumni. This position will network with employers, faculty, staff, students, alumni and University administration to promote Career Development Center (CDC) programs as well as develop and implement a structured recruitment plan to support both employers and students/alumni in successfully fulfilling program goals. The Assistant Director will recruit companies to choose SIUE first for on-campus interviews and handle recruitment of companies for 6 career fairs annually. The Assistant Director will also handle the program planning for several workshops and events utilizing employer volunteers throughout the year. This position will inform companies of SIUE’s resume referral system and other services of the CDC. Some night and weekend hours may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, master’s in Human Resources or related field preferred, one to three years’ experience in career and/or job development field or similar experience, strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, team building skills, computer skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and advanced communication skills. Supervisory duties are included in this position. Candidates must also have a demonstrated success in the development, implementation, and management of a recruitment program as well as program and event planning and the ability to present to both small and large groups. Experience with a database management software product is preferred.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Continuing, non-bargaining, 12 month, fiscal, 100%.

SALARY RANGE: $3,093 per month
