HIRING UNIT: INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
TITLE/RANK: Assistant Baseball Coach
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This individual reports to the Head Coach and Associate Director for Compliance and Student Services and must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. This person supports the goals and objectives of the Athletic Program. This individual assists the Head Coach with the organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics. This individual complies with the University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations; works cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel; supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. The Assistant Baseball Coach may be assigned other related tasks in support of the department’s mission and goals.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Non-bargaining; term; September 2012 through May 2013; 50%
SOURCE OF FUNDS: Local
SALARY RANGE: $10,000 annually
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s preferred). Evidence of sound organizational skills is essential. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public is necessary. Four years of collegiate playing experience is required. Two years of coaching experience at the Division I or II level is preferred.
