HIRING UNIT:  NATIONAL CORN-TO-ETHANOL RESEARCH CENTER

TITLE/RANK:  Specialist of Commercialization

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  The primary responsibilities for the Specialist include but are not limited to: write biofuels specific articles, releases and news briefs for media and trade journals; develop and maintain content of the NCERC website, while simultaneously increasing the Center’s exposure through media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; develop programs to engage stakeholders and prospective clients about opportunities for collaboration with the NCERC; develop external sales plans for each of the following;  Analytical Services, Consulting Services, Fermentation Services and Pilot Plant Services; develop programs to educate consumers on the benefits of biofuels and financial impact of ethanol industry; engage stakeholders through targeted conferences, publications, webinars and related events; assist with biofuels public policy and outreach to academic institutions, trade associations, and the private sector.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Professional Staff, non-bargaining; continuing beginning January 2013, 100%

SOURCE OF FUNDS: External

SALARY RANGE:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Applicant must demonstrate knowledge of project planning, guiding, and directing personnel to achieve NCERC objectives.  Must possess strong organizational skills, communication skills, be a team player, and the ability to effectively lead and develop others; demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, social media and website content is essential.  Experience working with industry partners, policy makers, technical personnel, and trade associations is critical.  A degree in marketing, communications, or related field with a minimum of three years of experience is required.
