HIRING UNIT:  OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS

TITLE/RANK:  Admissions Counselor
 
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position will inform prospective students of educational opportunities available to them at SIUE by advising and counseling prospective students and their families; interacting with counselors, faculty and administrators; making public presentations; representing the University at college day/night programs at high schools, colleges and college fairs; and assuming responsibility for and assisting with special projects.  Responsibilities of the position include off-campus travel, some irregular work hours, coordination with other campus units, and other duties related to providing admissions information to prospective students and others.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Professional Staff, bargaining, regular, 12-months, fiscal, 100%. 

SOURCE OF FUNDS: State

SALARY RANGE:  commensurate with experience

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelor’s degree and recommend two years of Admissions experience; proven written and oral communication skills; demonstrated positive work ethic; interpersonal and counseling skills; organization and time management skills; problem solving skills and abilities.  Must maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.
