Position: Tax Officer
Campus: SIU Carbondale
Description: Southern Illinois University invites applicants for the position of Tax Officer. The Officer shall be responsible for directing and maintaining a comprehensive federal, state, and local tax compliance program at Southern Illinois University.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; significant experience in tax research, consulting, and tax preparation, with emphasis on higher education or tax-exempt organizations preferred; familiar with primary and secondary tax law authority and general accounting practices; a certified public accountant or Master's Degree in Accountancy with a Concentration in Taxation preferred; demonstrated capabilities in communication, consulting, and analytic skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively. This is a security sensitive position; the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check, prior to any employment offer.
