HIRING UNIT:  SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE (ALTON)
                          SECTION OF PERIODONTICS

TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Responsibilities include teaching in the predoctoral program, independent research, teaching and mentoring residents in the graduate program, and service to the University.  Working in collaboration with other faculty both in research and in teaching is encouraged.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, continuing, tenure track position.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:   commensurate with qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree, specialty training in Periodontics, and clinical research and external grant writing experience are required.  Previous teaching experience and/or a record of research accomplishment through publication and external funding are required.  Candidates holding and M.S. degree are preferred.  Applicants must be able to meet the requirements for licensure in Illinois.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
