HIRING UNIT: SCHOOL OF PHARMACY
                         DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

TITLE/RANK:
  Post-Doctoral Fellow

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  The successful applicant will be responsible for the synthesis, purification and characterization of porphyrin and pseudoporphyrin systems for use in metal-based catalytic antioxidants.  The candidate will be expected to carry out synthetic work, interact with multidisciplinary team, communicate results verbally and in written form for manuscripts.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:   Tenure-track beginning November 1, 2009.  100% appointment.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:     Federal

SALARY RANGE:   Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry is required for this position.  The applicant should have experience with NMR, HPLC, flash chromatography, and other standard organic chemistry techniques.  Newly graduated Ph.D.s will be considered.
