HIRING UNIT:  SCHOOL OF NURSING

TITLE/RANK:   Director, Regional Baccalaureate and Higher Degree in Nursing Program

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  The Director will be located at SIU Carbondale and reports to the SIUE Assistant Dean for Undergraduate and Alternative Programs in Nursing and to the Dean of Nursing as needed.  The Director is a member of the Dean's Executive team and will attend weekly Executive meetings via live teleconferencing.   Some evenings and occasional Saturday or Sunday required.

 TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Tenure track, 12 month contract beginning September 21, 2009.  100% appointment.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:    Commensurate with qualifications and  experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Ph.D. in Nursing or related field required; MS in Nursing if Ph.D. is not in nursing.  RN licensure in Illinois required.  Rank and salary dependent upon qualifications.  Teaching experience required.     Medical-Surgical role specialization preferred.   Excellent interpersonal skills.  Must enjoy working with Student Nurses.  Ability to maintain students’ data bases and generate reports.
