HIRING UNIT: INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES

TITLE/RANK:
  Instructor (Call Staff)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:   The Department of Instructional Services invites applications for the position of Lecturer.  The Lecturer will teach development courses to college students and/or tutor in the following areas:  Reading, English, Math, study skills, career planning and placement on a part-time basis. Lecturers are needed for the Spring and Summer Semesters.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  
Spring Semester:  January 1, 2010 through May 15, 2010
Summer Semester:  May 15, 2010 through August 15, 2010
Appointment percentages may range from 13% - 75%

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:   $260 - $1,500 per month or commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:   Prefer person with Master’s Degree in subject area; will consider person with Bachelor’s Degree and appropriate experience.  Interest and experience in working with educationally disadvantaged students would be beneficial.  Good communication skills are a must.
