HIRING UNIT:  SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
                          CIVIL ENGINEERING

TITLE/RANK:  Assistant or Associate Professor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  The successful candidate must have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering, conduct research in civil engineering and participate in service activities. 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Faculty tenure track, Academic beginning Fall 2012, 100%.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:  State

SALARY RANGE:  commensurate with education, training and/or experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A Ph.D. in civil engineering or closely related field required.  However, individuals completing their doctorate in the near future will also be considered.  An education background which would permit licensure as a professional engineer is required.  Evidence of teaching competence and appropriate skills necessary to do research in structural engineering is essential.  Candidates with a background in bridge engineering are preferred.
