HIRING UNIT: KINESIOLOGY AND HEALTH EDUCATION
TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor (Sports & Exercise Behavior/Psychology)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Potential candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sport and exercise behavior (psychology) as well as courses in research methods, tests and measurement, and introduction to kinesiology. The successful candidate will also be expected to direct theses and independent studies as well as advise undergraduate and graduate students. The development and maintenance of an active research agenda, service to the University community, and public service are expected.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, 9-month, tenure-track beginning August 16, 2010 continuing with opportunities for summer employment based on availability and enrollment, 100%.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: State
SALARY RANGE: commensurate with training/experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology or related area (ABD will be considered but degree must be completed by August 16, 2010). The department desires candidates with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and personnel in local community agencies. Preference may also be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability or potential to secure internal and external funding. The Department seeks faculty who are committed to working in a culturally diverse community.
