HIRING UNIT:  COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
                            DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

TITLE/RANK:  Instructor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Biologist, full-time, non-tenure track position.  Seeking applicants with broad training in biological sciences to teach general biology, bacteriology, human biology, or human anatomy and physiology.  Candidates must exhibit potential for collaborative teaching with lead faculty, teaching assistants and lab coordinators.  Teaching assignment may include evenings and/or weekends.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Non-tenure track, 9 month appointment with a possibility of renewal. 

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:    Commensurate with credentials, qualifications, and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A Ph.D. in biology or related field is preferred, although candidates with an M.S. degree will be considered.  Experience teaching lab-based courses in general biology, anatomy and physiology or bacteriology is required.  A background in animal dissection or microbiology-based lab instruction is desired.
