HIRING UNIT:  SOCIAL WORK

TITLE/RANK:
   Assistant Professor  (2 Positions)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  This faculty appointment includes teaching in a combined BSW and MSW program and scholarly and service contributions to the Department of Social Work and the profession. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Academic beginning August 16, 2010.  100% appointment.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:    Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work or related social science; at least two years post MSW practice experience. ABD's will be considered. Post MSW experience in direct and clinical practice is highly desirable. Specific teaching areas are open but the ability to teach in a variety of curricular areas and family and children will be a plus. Evidence of effective teaching or potential for teaching excellence in social work; record of scholarship or scholarly potential; and the ability to relate effectively to a diverse faculty and student body are required.
