DEPARTMENT OF THEATER AND DANCE
TITLE/RANK: Instructor
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The person filling this non-tenured position will coordinate Theater Education, teach courses in theater education, general education, and other related theater courses at the undergraduate level. Courses may include introduction to theater education, advanced studies in theater education, curriculum integration, the dramatic experience (general education course for non-majors). The Instructor will mentor theater education students. Other duties may be assigned by the Chair in support of the department’s mission and goals.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, non-tenure-track, 9-month, 100%, term, beginning August 16, 2013.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: State
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: MA, M.F.A. or PhD in theater required. A minimum of ten years classroom experience at the secondary level preferred. Attained tenure in a secondary school district highly preferred. Ability to teach education methods and success strategies to student teaching candidates is essential. Directing experience required.
