TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor, Metalsmithing Program
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This is a nine-month, full-time teaching position in the field of Metalsmithing and Jewelry, with a 3/3 load. Primary responsibilities include supervising the graduate and undergraduate Metalsmithing programs, and managing and maintaining the studio facilities in the newly expanded Art and Design building. In addition, applicants will be required to maintain an active research and exhibition record, and to perform committee service to the department, college, and university.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, tenure-track, beginning Fall 2013, 100%

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: MFA with at least 2-3 years teaching experience in Metalsmithing and Jewelry at the university level (beyond TA) preferable. Candidates should have a broad knowledge in both traditional and contemporary techniques, including electroforming, aluminum anodizing, and mixed media. Applicants also must demonstrate an understanding of contemporary trends and concepts in the field of Metalsmithing and must have an active exhibition record.
