TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: MOLECULAR GENETICIST/GENOMICIST. The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek applicants with training in molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and/or comparative genomics. The successful candidate will share responsibility for teaching an introductory genetics course for biology majors, offer upper-division courses in area of expertise, and may also participate in non-majors courses in biology. Candidates should exhibit potential for independent and innovative research involving Master’s and undergraduate students.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Continuing academic year (nine month appointment) beginning August 16, 2013 100% appointment, tenure eligible.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: State
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with credentials, qualifications, and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Ph.D. in the biological sciences with specialization in genetics and/or molecular biology. Post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience preferred.
