HIRING UNIT: COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
                         DEPARTMENT OF MATH & STATISTICS

TITLE/RANK:  Assistant Professor-Statistics

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The duties will include teaching courses in statistics and mathematics, mentoring  students through senior projects and master’s theses, performing research, and contributing to the department, college, and university through appropriate service activities.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:  Academic, tenure track, beginning Fall 2013, 100%.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:  State

SALARY RANGE:  Commensurate with education, training and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A Ph.D. in statistics, or in the mathematical sciences with an emphasis in statistics is required, but ABDs very near completion will be considered (if Ph.D. is not completed at the beginning of the contract period, a one-year term appointment will be made at the rank of Instructor).  Actuarial science background is a plus.
