TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor-Applied Mathematics
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The duties will include teaching courses in mathematics and applied mathematics, mentoring students through senior projects and master’s theses, performing research, and contributing to the department, college, and university through appropriate service activities.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, tenure track, beginning Fall 2013, 100%.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: State
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with education, training and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Ph.D. in mathematical sciences with an emphasis in applied mathematics is required, but ABDs very near completion will be considered(if Ph.D. is not completed at the beginning of the contract period, a one-year term appointment will be made at the rank of Instructor). Preference will be given to applicants with a background in numerical analysis.
