TITLE/RANK: Assistant Professor-Environmental or Physical Geography
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Teach courses within the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences Program; advise undergraduate and graduate students; supervise senior assignments and other projects. In addition, curriculum development and strong scholarship and service are essential.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, jointly appointed tenure track, 9 months, 51%/49%.
SOURCE OF FUNDS: State
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with education, training and/or experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Geography or Environmental Sciences or related field required.
The Department is seeking an Environmental or Physical Geographer with expertise in Geographic Information Systems. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Geography and Environmental Sciences at the undergraduate and graduate level. Both programs support the development of innovative courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Faculty in both programs have extensive opportunities to develop their teaching and research agendas. Excellence in teaching is expected, as is the development of an externally funded research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students.
