HIRING UNIT:  SPECIAL EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION DISORDERS

TITLE/RANK:  Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology (2 Positions)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising clinical experiences, directing student research, advising graduate students, and scholarly/clinical work in interest areas.  Teaching responsibilities may include evening and off-campus offerings.  Opportunities exist for administrative responsibilities.  Additional responsibilities related to tenure and promotion include professional development, university and professional service, and a continued record of scholarly activity. 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Academic, 9-month, tenure-track beginning August 16, 2010 continuing with opportunities for summer employment based on availability and enrollment, 100%.

 SOURCE OF FUNDS:    State

SALARY RANGE:    commensurate with training/experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Ph.D in speech-language pathology or related field, be eligible for Illinois licensure, and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).  ABD candidates will be considered. Successful applicants will have experience in any of the following areas:  child phonology, dysphagia, voice, cleft palate, and motor speech disorders.  Experience with college-level teaching, clinical supervision, and mentoring student research is preferred.  The Department seeks faculty who are committed to working in a culturally diverse community.
