The following is a current Civil Service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Applicants compete by examination. COOK’S HELPER-FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT
Hours: To be announced. However, this position must be available nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Description: The purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation and cooking of meats, fish, poultry, eggs, fruits and vegetables for serving. This position also assists in the preparation of soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The Cook’s Helper prepares and cooks short-order items and prepares food for special events. This position also cleans the kitchen, equipment and utensils and performs other related duties as assigned.

Starting salary: $11.94 per hour
