HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT-OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Description:  Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resource Assistant will support and contribute to daily and long-term management of the Office of Human Resources. The Human Resource Assistant will manage and coordinate large- and small-scale projects for the Director. In addition, the Human Resource Assistant will manage financial operations including reporting, accounts payable and some budget monitoring. She/he will oversee and monitor salary time records as well as prepare year-end vacation/sick leave reports for the department. The purchasing of office supplies as well as the coordination of mail, shipping and receiving, and telecommunications logistics are typical of the position. The Human Resource Assistant will serve as the gatekeeper for all public information. She/he will prepare correspondence and presentations, complete verifications of employment and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and coordinate personnel file reviews.  Periodically, it may be necessary to assign additional duties and responsibilities to the Human Resource Assistant that support the department’s mission and goals. 

Minimum qualifications:
1.  High school graduation or equivalent

2.  (a) One (1) year of work experience performing basic human resource/payroll or general office/clerical duties.
     (b) 30 semester hours of college course work that included 6 semester hours in human resource administration, business administration, or a closely
           related field.

Starting salary: $2,578 per month
