The following is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  Applicants compete by examination.  If you are interested in applying for this position, please complete and submit a Civil Service application to the Offices of Human Resources.  Examination appointments are required.

CLERK-FINANCIAL AID DEPARTMENT (Part-time 75%)

Description:
The purpose of this position is to manage all aspects of the athletic scholarship programs for the University.  Some of the key duties of this position include receiving and processing all athletic scholarship agreements/contracts/change of awards; entering all athletic and other aid received by all athletes into Banner and CaI systems; running and processing scholarship reports; sending questionnaires to donors; running squad lists for NCAA deadlines and when requested by the Athletic department; verifying tuition waiver limits; receiving and processing names from the Athletic department for renewal/non renewals; receiving and processing any aid cancellations as needed; conduct financial aid presentations to Athletes, their families, and the Athletic department; serving as the designated financial aid liaison to all athletes, their families and the athletic department; staying abreast with current NCAA rules and regulations. This position also performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

1.  High school graduation or equivalent
2.  Any one or combination of the following types of preparation:    
(a)   work experience performing clerical/secretarial work, including use of computer systems  
(b)   college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education or closely related fields
(c)   vocational training which provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures comparable to that gained in "b" above
(d)   college or university course work in any curriculum

that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
18 months of "a"
24 semester hours of "b"
12 months of "c"
48 semester hours of "d"
3.  Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 25 w.p.m.

Starting salary:
  $10.59 per hour
