CHILD CARE ASSISTANT - HEAD START (E. ST. LOUIS)
Description: This position assists in the supervision of children, coordinates and performs duties in the food service area in the Head Start Centers. The Child Care Assistant supports staff in the implementation of learning experiences provided to the children, their physical needs, as well as, care and maintenance of the Center environment.
Minimum Qualifications: The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services require that early childhood and school-age assistants have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
Personal Attributes Needed to Undertake Job:
1. Physical examination as required by Illinois Child Care Act for employees in child care facilities.
2. Personal attributes required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for all child care personnel.
a. Must be able to follow directions and be a nurturing individual capable of interacting with children in a positive and appropriate manner.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Residency: Illinois
Starting Salary: $8.25 per hour
