How to Register your Emergency Contact with SIUE

Students are expected to identify and register an emergency contact person who may be reached in the event SIUE determines the student has been missing for more than 24 hours or other emergencies. Follow the steps below to register the confidential contact information with SIUE.

  1. Log into CougarNet (www.siue.edu/cougarnet)
  2. Select Personal Information
  3. Select View and Update Emergency Contacts
  4. Click New Contact
  5. From the "Relationship" drop-down box, select Confidential Missing Person
  6. Enter the appropriate information and and click Submit Changes.
  7. If you wish to include an Emergency contact person, repeat steps 5 and 6 and select Emergency Contact.
  8. If you wish to remove a previously entered Confidential Missing Person contact or Emergency contact, you may do so by clicking the Remove Contact box. Also note that more than one individual may entered for each type of contact.

How to Register your Emergency Contact with University Housing

University Housing collects emergency contact information separate from the University.

Please visit www.siue.edu/housing/myhousing to list the individual parent or guardian that will serve as your primary contact in the event of an emergency. 

  1. Go to www.siue.edu/housing/myhousing
  2. Log-in using your e-ID and password
  3. Select My Emergency Contacts
  4. Complete and submit online form
