The Wellness FIC houses first year students who have a shared commitment to pursuing a healthy, well-balanced, and purposeful lifestyle. This community is designed for students to explore common interests such as nutrition, fitness, meditation, relaxation, yoga, sports, and other activities and hobbies that encourage a healthy lifestyle.
A commitment to wellness will be promoted through events, activities, partnerships with University offices, and guided conversations with other students. Community members make a commitment to a lifestyle free from alcohol consumption, illegal drugs, misuse of legal drugs, and smoking in all environments.
Students will live together and be enrolled together in a linked class focused on wellness and health. This linked class meets the freshman seminar requirement, but may not be a required course in your degree plan. This community works directly with a faculty fellow and may interact with other faculty members as well.
For the 2013-2014 academic year, Wellness will be located in Prairie Hall.
