The Future Leaders program is perfect for first year students looking to get an edge on becoming a campus leader! Members of this Focused Interest Community have the opportunity to complete community service, join a student organization, and connect with campus partners. This course assists in connecting Horizons’ students to leaders on campus.
The Future Leaders FIC linked class meets the freshman seminar requirement, but may not be a required course in your degree plan.
Future Leaders offers faculty interaction, organizational membership, First Year Programming, and connection to Housing professionals.
Residents of this community will take POLS 112, a course that examines leadership through the lens of government and politics. This class is a general educations requirement and thus fits into most major degree plans.
Future Leaders is located in Prairie Hall.
“The Future Leaders program truly improved my leadership abilities and gave me an inside look at what opportunities SIUE has to offer. I would strongly recommend the Future Leaders program to any incoming freshman who is seeking an exciting first year experience and wants to learn how to get involved with the University.” – Mitchell Elting
