The Community Director position is a full-time professional staff member responsible for the management and supervision of a designated residence hall or a portion of an apartment community. This position has been re-titled from Hall Director to Community Director for 2009 - 2010. Responsibilities include management of a living area, supervision of a Graduate Assistant, supervision of 11-16 Resident Assistants, counseling, programming, discipline, and development of a living and learning environment with a community focus. On call and departmental responsibilities for a total campus population of approximately 3,500 residents. Responsible for developing an atmosphere that promotes academic success, personal development, respect for diversity, and a strong sense of community. The Community Director will play an integral role in further developing the living-learning program housed in their community. This is a 12-month, live-in position. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree in student personnel, counseling or related field is strongly preferred.
