Assistant Hall/Community Director
This is a live-in graduate assistantship position responsible for assisting their supervisor with management of a 500-bed residence hall or a portion of an apartment community. Responsibilities include student staff supervision (resident assistants, front desk staff, or Family Resource Center student staff), counseling, roommate negotiation, programming, discipline, and community development. On call responsibilities shared for approximately 3,500 on-campus students. University Housing currently employs nine Assistant Hall/Community Directors.
Bachelor’s degree required and admission to a SIUE graduate program. Housing/Residence Life experience strongly preferred.
This is a 50% appointment; 10-month contract with possibility of summer employment. Possibility of renewal based on positive performance.
Graduate Assistants currently receive a $846/month stipend, tuition waiver, 2-bedroom furnished/carpeted apartment, and a meal plan.
