Resident Assistant

The 2012-2013 Resident Assistant Appilcation is now available!

Thank you for your interest in one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs available to students at SIUE. It is important that you read this carefully!

If you missed one of the Resident Assistant information sessions but are still interested in being a resident assistant, e-mail Kyle Rice at klineba@siue.edu to set up a meeting by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16th and you could still be eligible!

Please take the time to complete the application by typing professionally and attaching it to the e-mail you will send to applyforra@siue.edu. To be fully considered for the 2012-2013 academic year, all application materials, including the two-three references, are due by Tuesday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.

Completed applications will only be accepted via an e-mail to applyforra@siue.edu. You must attach your application and answers to the self evaluations question and any additional questions.  You will receive a notification that your application has been received.

To be eligible for the RA position, you must:

1. Attend and sign in at one RA Information Session.
2. Turn in a completed application by the appropriate deadline: Tuesday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.
3. Submit two-three reference forms by the appropriate deadline: Tuesday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.
4. Have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA by the time you assume the position (RAs are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA).
5. Cannot be graduating before May 2013.
6. Cannot be involved with a full-time internship/co-op, student teach, or enrolled in the School of Pharmacy program during the 2012-2013 academic year.
7. Have lived in University Housing for at least two full semesters by the time you would become an RA if hired.  (summer is counted as a semester)
8. Be in good financial, academic, and disciplinary standing with the University.
9. Be able to enroll in the Resident Assistant 3-hour leadership course on Thursday afternoons.
