Associate Director of Residence Life
The Associate Director of Residence Life has full responsibility for developing and implementing the vision and direction of the Residence Life program and serves as an integral part of the central management team for University Housing. The Associate Director’s primary responsibility is ensuring the effective daily operations of Cougar Village Apartments and Woodland, Prairie, Evergreen, and Bluff residence halls. The Associate Director is responsible for budget management, supervision of Residence Life staff (hiring, training, discipline, resolution of work concerns, and termination), and ensuring the development of a community that fosters intellectual growth and development for 3,500 residents. In addition, the Associate Director provides direction in the development and coordination of the Faculty Fellows Program, the First Year Experience program, the Focused Interest Communities, the Family Resource center, and any other living-learning programs and academic initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or a related field, and 5 years post master’s progressive experience in college / university housing. Significant supervisory experience and a strong working knowledge of student development theory are required. You must be able to encourage putting theory into practice, and contribute to and support the academic mission of the University. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational and administrative skills are required.
