Approved Reasons for Canceling your University Contract
- Graduation at the end of the Fall term (submit request by December 1st deadline to be eligible for cancellation fee waiver)
- Marriage (copy of certificate required)
- Serious Illness (Doctor’s statement & University Physician verification required)
- Death in the immediate family (documentation required)
- Counseling considerations (documentation required); please print out the following information on guidelines for a counseling consideration cancellation request.
- Active military induction (copy of orders required)
- Withdrawal from SIUE for the remainder of the University Housing contract period
- Academic Suspension (copy of suspension letter within two weeks of date of letter is required – if deadline is met, student only forfeits $75.00 security deposit and is not responsible for a cancellation fee)
