Homecoming Royalty Candidates

Hannah Baker-Boyd

I firmly believe that I would best represent the University as Homecoming Royalty because I align with the values of the University, which are citizenship, inclusion, excellence, integrity and wisdom. Citizenship and inclusion are two of my strongest values because I am studying to become a Social Worker. My academic track requires me to be socially, politically, and civically responsible every day, while being inclusive and empathetic to individuals from all backgrounds. I also display the values of excellence, integrity and wisdom by remaining honest and humble, maintaining a high GPA and using my leadership skills to the fullest in all settings.

I take great pride in having called Edwardsville home for my entire life, and it would be an incredible honor to represent my hometown University as Homecoming Royalty.  I believe in the importance of striving for excellence in everything that I do, whether it means being a friend, serving the community, or working hard in and out of the classroom.  As Royalty, I hope to serve as a positive example to others and represent what it truly means to be an SIUE Cougar.  GO COUGS!

I will be a great representative for Homecoming Royalty because I am approachable, energetic, and involved with many organizations here on campus. I pride myself in my ability to participate in the homecoming events, and engage with my fellow peers with excitement. I want to see SIUE flourish, and be the best school that it can be. I am committed to improving the overall environment of SIUE to ensure that everyone on this campus feels welcomed. I hope to bridge the gap between all the diverse groups and organizations on campus so we can operate as one, unified student body.

I will best represent the University because I am very well-rounded. I can connect on a knowledge-based conversational level with literary scholars, pioneering environmental chemists, members of Greek Life, representatives of Student Government, members of our esteemed athletics programs, and fellow Disability Support Services volunteers, to name a few. I understand the necessity for diversity in unity, which is best shown through SIUE's vibrant student body. I have experienced first-hand many of the wonderful character-developing opportunities this University has to offer and can impart some of those experiences through inclusion and discussion.

Happy Homecoming Week, SIUE! Welcome to everyone’s favorite SIUE tradition, besides Cougar Tuesday of course. I hope you consider voting for me as Homecoming Royalty. Through my time here, I have served in numerous roles on campus. Each role provided me with an extensive array of opportunities and experiences. The one characteristic that remains true through every role is that I receive nothing but support and encouragement from you, the SIUE community. It is because of your support that I accomplished so much over my four years here and I wholeheartedly thank you for that. Thank you, and Go Cougars!

I’m honored to have the opportunity to represent SIUE and Alpha Phi as Homecoming Royalty. I believe I’m the best candidate because I’ve been actively involved with SIUE and the community since freshman year. I’m also in Order of Omega, National Honor Society, and the Honors Program. During my time here, I’ve come to love every aspect of this school and I’m proud to be a Cougar. This University has truly shaped me into the woman I am today, and I believe I’m a great representation of all the ways SIUE can make you a better leader, student, and citizen.

It would be my honor and dream come true to represent SIUE as Homecoming Royalty. I feel I represent some of our best aspects of campus by being a member of Non-Profits, Disability Support Service, Greek Life, Leadership society and Honor Society’s. I have my own non-profit charity, donating stuffed animals to local hospitals for children. I’m an advocate for illnesses since I have Primary Immunodeficiency Disease and was a Make-A-Wish recipient. I feel I best represent our campus by being inclusive, having integrity and always striving for excellence. The core values of SIUE have shaped me into the leader and student, I am today.

I will represent the University as Homecoming Royalty because my goal is to bring the attendees of this university together. I plan on using my platform as Homecoming Queen to promote unity and peace. Although this is a fairly nice sized campus, the population here isn't as big as other universities. Therefore, there shouldn't be any reason why we can't all get along and come together peacefully. I will represent this university as a leader. I would love to be the glue that keeps this campus together in an amicable, friendly and unified way.

As homecoming royalty, I plan to represent SIUe to the highest degree possible.  I will at all times make sure that I am a strong representation of our beloved institution. I plan to make sure all students feel included and nobody feels left behind. Sitting on the executive board of various organizations has given me the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with others at building strong relationships with both staff, faculty and students. I plan to continuously uplift everyone and so that we’ll can all work together in making SIUE great because WE ARE ONE!

SIUE's campus is a place I've felt at home even before becoming a student here. As I have grown to be a part of the institution, I feel have become a more well-rounded woman, and therefore a felicitous choice for Homecoming Royalty. I have been able to give back to my campus through my position on the Student Government executive board, give back to my community through the help of my sorority, Alpha Phi, and represent the School of Business on the Dean's List. SIUE has made all these opportunities possible, therefore I desire to represent our exceptional campus as Homecoming Royalty.
