2011 Alumni Homecoming Committee Application

The purpose of the SIUE Alumni Homecoming committee is to provide a Homecoming program that is a celebration of the spirit and traditions of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The Alumni Spirit Homecoming committee is comprised of alumni representing the diversity of all SIUE graduates including gender, race, class year and affinity groups.

Committee Responsibilities and Expectations

 The Alumni Spirit subcommittee will work in conjunction with the Student Spirit and Internal Spirit subcommittees to plan, support and implement the 2011 Homecoming events including:

• SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Dinner
• SIUE Alumni Reunion Lunch '61, '71, '81, '91, '01
• SIUE men's soccer game vs. Evansville
• 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off
• SIUE Homecoming Concert featuring Three Dog Night

The committee members' responsibilities include:

• Providing overall vision, direction and coordination of SIUE’s Homecoming celebration
• Attending Homecoming committee planning meetings in August, September and October
• Participating in committee decision-making and/or problem-solving on issues related to specific events or the overall planning process for Homecoming
• Maintaining communication through e-mail and phone calls with Alumni Affairs staff and fellow committee members
• Serving as publicity contact for designated class year and/or affinity group(s)
• Serving as event volunteer during Homecoming 2011 activities
• Attending 2010 Homecoming recap meeting to provide feedback and direction for the 2011 Homecoming celebration
• Assisting with the recruitment of 2012 Homecoming committee members

 2012 Alumni Homecoming Committee

 If you are interested in participating in the 2012 Alumni Homecoming, click here to fill out the online application.  The 2012 committee applications will be reviewed by the 2011 committee members.  The 2012 committee members will be selected in November 2011 and the first committee meeting will be held in February 2012.
