SIUE requires all international students to have medical health insurance. To facilitate this requirement, SIUE has secured a medical health insurance policy for you. Our International Insurance Committee has coordinated your premium and plan benefits through Academic Health Plans (http://siue.myahpcare.com/). All F-1 visa students who are enrolled in at least 1 credit hour with SIUE are automatically enrolled in this plan and are assessed a medical insurance fee on their Bursar bill.
Currently, SIUE does not mandate domestic students to provide proof of insurance. However, despite your age and health, you never know when a serious injury or illness will strike. Insurance gives you the peace of mind that most of your medical bills will be covered in case something happens. SIUE has contracted with Academic Health Plans to offer an optional plan that is compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Plan details, cost and enrollment information can be found at http://siue.myahpcare.com/

Immunization records are being accepted for newly enrolled students and are due the 1st day of the term. If you are non-compliant, a HOLD will be placed on your ability to register for next semester. See Immunizations for further information. A fine of $25.00 will be levied the 4th week of the term if a student remains non-compliant.
Domestic students looking for health insurance that meets ACA requirements should visit here for information about our optional plan details.
