Before Submitting your ETD

To begin your ETD submission, your thesis should be formatted according to the Graduate School thesis/doctoral requirements. Please review the following information as you prepare for submission:

  • The thesis must be submitted as a single Portable Document (PDF) file.
  • The file should be named Lastname_Firstname.pdf (e.g., Smith_John.pdf).
  • Security settings should not be applied to the PDF file.
  • The PDF file should not contain embedded multimedia
  • If applicable, submit any supplemental appendix files (video, audio, color diagrams or images, animations, spreadsheets, databases, etc)

Submitting your ETD

Create an Account You will need an account to make your submission. After clicking on "Submit My ETD" link below, click on "Submit my dissertation/thesis". Students will either login if an account was previously created or click on "Create an Account" on the right to begin. After you have submitted your thesis for review, you will receive a series of emails from the Graduate School alerting you of any required corrections needed for approval. Your thesis is not complete until you have made all corrections requested by the Graduate School. When your thesis/doctoral project is approved by the Graduate School, Graduate Records will be notified. Graduate Records will ensure that students have met all the graduation requirements before giving final approval.

ETD Processing Fees

All theses, dissertations, or doctoral research projects will be made electronically and there will no longer be a paper submission option. Students will be charged a $95 processing fee by ProQuest/UMI. Fees will be assessed only to students who have completed the entire submission process.
