
Competitive Graduate Award (CGA)
CGAs are available to support highly qualified new graduate students, including students from underrepresented groups, who are accepted into advanced degree programs at SIUE. There are about 19 CGA awards for the nine-month academic year fall and spring. The awards include a $930 monthly stipend and a tuition waiver. For more details, check out the CGA website.

Graduate Scholar Awards (GSA)
Graduate Scholar Awards are available for eligible students from underrepresented groups who are nominated by their academic unit. You can apply for an award if you qualified to be a recipient, but you also will need to receive a nomination. To learn more about this award, check out the GSA website.

Outstanding TA Award
The Outstanding TA (Teaching Graduate Assistant) Award is designed to recognize and reward Graduate Assistants for outstanding performance in teaching and instruction. One $500 cash award is given each year. To learn more, see the information on the website.

Outstanding Thesis Award
The Outstanding Thesis Award (OTA) recognizes and awards a graduate student whose thesis has been identified by the Graduate School among those submitted during the previous academic year. One $500 cash award is given each year. The recipient's thesis is forwarded by the University to the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Distinguished Master's Thesis Award competition. Research Grants
Research Grants for Graduate Students (RGGS) are small grants awarded on a competitive basis to support research initiated and conducted by classified graduate students to help enhance their academic progress. Faculty advisors oversee the research, particularly as it relates to the thesis or final project. Learn more at the RGGS website.

Travel Grants
Travel Grants through the Graduate Student Travel Support Program help make travel for major paper presentations, and eligible exhibits and performances, possible. You could be eligible for a travel grant if you are a classified graduate students making satisfactory progress and meet other eligibility criteria. Find out more at the Travel Grants website.
