Job Description: To act as a community liaison between SIUE (as acting research partner) and Action Teams in the Southern Region. In this role the research assistant (RA) will assist with outcomes assessment and supportive activities that facilitate the progress of Permanency Enhancement Project. The RA will also assist with coordination of various research activities that are aligned with the grant such as travel across Southern Illinois to attend Action Team Meetings, present research updates to Action Teams, gather information from the Action Team members to share with the project managers, and anticipate and be prepared to answer questions from the Action Team members. The RA will also monitor outcomes of the Permanency Action Teams by identifying and writing goal statements, connecting goals to program objectives and overall DCFS permanency outcomes, evaluate achievement and identify barriers to permanency, and compose a monthly report detailing progress and a final report.
Qualifications Required: Enrolled as a graduate student at SIUE and meets graduate research assistant qualifications; undergraduate background in social work, psychology, or related field; experience with Microsoft Office Applications(Word, Excel, PPT, Publisher); ability to create and manipulate data, tables & charts in Excel and SPSS; ability to create & present clear, concise, accurate professional presentations; experience with data entry; Human Subjects Training Certifications; basic understanding of social Science Research Processes; strong oral& written communications skills; ability to exercise sound independent judgment, tact, discretion in dealing with confidential & controversial issues; professional acumen & courteous interpersonal skills

Salary: 50% appointment ($896/month)
