Hiring Unit: Intercollegiate Athletics: Athletic Training
Job Description: The candidate will assist in all areas of operation for the Athletics' Athletic Training department. Support goals and objectives of the Athletics Program. The individual will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with evaluating, treating, and rehabbing athletic injuries for student-athletes. Also, responsible for additional duties as assigned by the Head Trainer or Director of Athletics. Must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. Students in this position work cooperatively and responsibly with other department personnel. Support the student-athlete concept and demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events. Must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree required. Acceptance into SIUE Graduate School; must maintain 6-12 hour course load per semester. Evidence of sound organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public. Previous involvement in event planning, student activities, leadership development experience, and demonstrated communication and computer skills are preferred.
Period of Appointment: 12-month appointment beginning May 16, 2014
Salary: $896 per month stipend. Includes tuition waiver.
