Job Description: The person in this position will work with the Office of Research and Projects (ORP) to collect, edit and prepare articles for publication in the ORP publications, websites, electronic news feeds, and social  media outlets. Publications include the research magazine Research and Creative Activities, the news feed The SIUE Researcher, and other web portals associated with ORP outreach. Duties for the Graduate Assistant also include assistance in coordinating ORP special events, conferences and research workshops; writing general announcements and publications associated with internal programs; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required: Preferred skills: strong writing and communication skills, technical and/or journalistic writing, textual analysis, reliability in the handling of detailed and confidential information, familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and Adobe products. Familiarity with web editors and social media dashboards also a plus.

Period of Appointment: Summer 2014 (50%= 20 hours per week), renewal contingent on availability of funds

Salary: $896 per month (1st year graduate assistant)   $951 per month (2nd year graduate assistant)
