Hiring Unit: School of Business- Small Business Development Center
Job Description: Duties involve providing small business counseling services to small business owners and entrepreneurs. Will offer assistance in business plan development and provide information on business start-up. May involve conducting market research for both center clients as well as the center itself. In addition to working with center clients, will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the center operations, and provide SBDC business workshops. Operations will be at the SIUE main campus and the East St. Louis Higher Education campus.
Qualifications Required: Must be admitted into a School of Business graduate program and 6-12 graduate credit hours for fall 2013 and/or spring 2014. Be familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. Experience in working with small business is preferred. Must be well adapted to working with small business owners and entrepreneurs for the purpose of providing small business counseling services (training will be provided). Knowledge of marketing, accounting, and finance. Must possess a command of the English language and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Period of Appointment: Fall 2013 - renewal for Spring 2014 and/or Summer 2014 contingent upon job performance and available funds.
25% $395 per month (1st year) $423 per month (2nd year)
50% $896 per month (1st year) $951 per month (2nd year)
