JOB DESCRIPTION: The Emergency Management and Safety Graduate Assistant position is highly visible on campus and meets with University departments to promote, educate, and train the University community in matters pertaining to emergency procedures.   The Graduate Assistant will assist the Director of Emergency Management and Safety with maintaining the SIUE Emergency Management Plan, hazard mitigation, and response and recovery efforts.  Additionally, the graduate student will assist with a number of projects within the department including the development of training educational programs.  This position will provide opportunities to put into practice the theories and skills obtained through the study of speech communication and in general business practices. 



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Graduate students with knowledge of emergency and safety policies and procedures at SIUE      




PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT:  From June 9, 2014 through May 15, 2015 with possibility of renewal


SALARY:  $896 per month
