Job Description: To develop and facilitate monthly educational workshops for pre college students during Upward Bound Saturday sessions; To create and develop TRIO Upward Bound website, brochures and Upward Bound marketing publications; To create, assist and develop an African-American Male Mentor Program; To create, develop and implement a TRIO Upward Bound Student Council; To develop outreach activities that encourage underrepresented populations to participate in Upward Bound Programs; Other responsibilities will include office related assignments such as providing assistance in creating reports, creating statistical data or other technology related work.
Qualifications Required: Admission into a graduate program of study at SIUE with a focus in Social Work or Psychology on learning culture and society; Knowledge of and sensitivity toward problems of minority and disadvantaged students; Having an understanding of TRIO programs preferred.
Period of Appointment: January 7, 2013 through June 30, 2012
Salary: First Year Assistant: $395-$533 (25%) Monthly
Second Year Assistant: $422-$591 (25%) Monthly
